"No man puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst,
and the wine pours out, and the wineskins are ruined.
But they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."

We are The Church Without Walls, a cell-based church located in Gastonia, North Carolina.  Please feel free to take some time and thoroughly browse our site in order to discover who we are and why we do what we do.

These are some questions you may find answers for on the pages that follow…

Well, are you ready to explore The Church Without Walls?

Good!  Then, let's jump right in, shall we.

To begin with, let me give you a bit of an overview of The Church Without Walls.

So, just what is the Church Without Walls?

I'm glad you asked.  Let us begin to answer that question this way.

The Church Without Walls is...

A church patterned after the New Testament model...

The Church Without Walls is built upon the cell model of church life.  We are organized within multiple individual cell units, or "ICU's," and the affairs of the church are primarily concentrated within these groups.  Each ICU group meets on a weekly basis in the homes of its members.  Our aim is to develop a sense of basic Christian community within each group, providing avenues for encouragement, fellowship, growth, service, and outreach.  The multiple ICU's gather weekly for a corporate worship celebration.  We believe house to house meetings and public gatherings are biblically based (Acts 20:20) and effective in providing the kind of community people need and are looking for.

A church focused on loving God and loving people...

Jesus taught, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul...and mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39).  We have chosen to make living out this commandment one of our highest priorities.  We strive to love God in two ways: by worshiping Him and by obeying Him.  We strive to love people by focusing on their needs and not the church’s needs.  The very name of our church, "Without Walls," describes our intent.  We believe true Christianity is best lived outside the walls of the church.  In essence, we believe in using the church to build people, and not using people to build the church.

A church committed to the personal growth of every member...

At The Church Without Walls, we believe every member deserves the kind of personal attention that will allow achievement of God’s fullest potential for his/her life.  We are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment that will foster growth in one’s personal walk with God and in one’s ability to minister and serve in the place in which God places them.  Our pattern of cell-based Christian community makes quality personal discipleship possible.

Let me encourage you to take your time and browse our site in order to determine our Mission, our Values or maybe the history of the cell-church movement.  We also have a detailed page describing exactly what we believe and teach as well as many other resources and links designed to enhance your Christian life-- all here to let you know who we are.
