So, what are the Scriptural Values of the Church Without
Walls?
Again, an
excellent question!

To summarize, we
believe that God is looking for "new" wineskins to fill afresh
with His Spirit in these last days. And one of the major
obstacles between where His church is now and where we believe
His Spirit is moving are the walls we erect between each other
and between our obedience and the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, we
strive to remove any walls that stand between what we are and
what He wants us to be.
Hence, The
Church Without Walls.

OUR
FOCUS AND TEN SPIRITUAL VALUES
One,
Our focus is on preparing for the Harvest!
We believe that
God is ready to pour out a blessing on His church, the likes
of which are beyond our wildest expectations! Therefore, we
are committed to being prepared for whatever harvest of souls
our Lord provides.
Then He said
to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers
are few." |
Matthew 9:37
"Behold, I
say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields,
that
they are white for harvest."
John 4:35b
And we believe
that time is running out!
Two,
Our focus is on Jesus and teaching others to know Him!
We believe that,
as bowls of fragrant incense, prayer is a priority in our
corporate and individual worship of the Lord.
"Therefore
beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His
harvest."
Matthew 9:38
"And this is
eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent."
John 17:3
Three,
Our focus is on reaching the lost with the
eternal Gospel of
Jesus Christ!
We believe that
evangelism takes place best through relationships in a small
group setting (cell-groups). Thus, we believe it glorifies
Christ to experience church growth primarily through new
converts.
And Jesus
said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers
of men."
Mark 1:17
But you, be
sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an
evangelist,
fulfill your ministry.
2 Timothy 4:5
"It is not
those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are
sick.
I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Mark 2:17
Four,
Our focus is on the Great Commission (discipleship)!

To make
disciples during every phase of our life!
We believe the
heartbeat of the Great Commission of our Lord is to "make
disciples" and not just converts! Therefore, we value
evangelism, then discipleship-- which then leads to more
evangelism and discipleship. This is the Biblical model of
the New Testament church multiplication.
"Go therefore
and make disciples (not converts) of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded
you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the
age."
Matthew 28:19-20
Five,
Our focus is on spiritual adoption and mentoring.
We believe that
in order to "make disciples" each member should be in a
mentoring relationship. Why? Because being a disciple of
Jesus Christ is best modeled and learned within personal
relationships of accountability.
For if you
were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not
have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I became your father
through the gospel. I exhort you therefore, be imitators of
me. For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my
beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you
of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in
every church.
1 Corinthians 4:15-17
Six,
Our focus is on people and not the church as a building.
We believe it is
Christ's desire to use the church to build people, and not use
people to build the church. Why? Because He alone said that
He would build His church!
"And I also
say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build
My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it."
Matthew 16:18
"How I did
not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable,
and teaching you publicly and from house to house."
Acts 20:20
Seven,
Our focus is on people doing the work of ministry
and not just
the leaders.
We believe that
it is the responsibility and profound privilege of every
Believer in Christ to be involved in Spirit-led ministry. In
essence, the Church Without Walls is a place where everyone is
a minister "for the building up of the body of Christ." We
believe that God has gifted the church with spiritual leaders
whose primary task is not to simply "do" ministry, but to
"equip" and "prepare" the saints (His church) for ministry.
And He gave
some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as
evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, (why) for the
equipping of the saints for the work of service,
to the building up of the body of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-12
Eight,
Our focus is on trust and relationships,
and not on endless meetings
and programs.
We believe the
gospel is about people and their relationships with our Lord
and each other. Therefore, our focus is on building these
trust relationships. And, we believe the best way to build
trust relationships is in small groups (cells or ICUs) and by
working together in ministry.
You also, as
living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a
holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable
to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:5
From whom the
whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every
joint supplies,
according to the proper working of each individual part,
causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in
love.
Ephesians 4:16
Nine,
Our focus is on expecting spiritual
multiplication!

We believe that
a healthy church will, by its very nature, grow. After all,
Jesus said that it was His responsibility to build His church
(Matt. 16:18), and our responsibility to invest our lives in
others. Therefore, our focus is on what we clearly see as the
norm in the New Testament-- spiritual multiplication! And we
believe that a healthy church will be one that our Lord uses
to multiply the kingdom of God beyond what we can even imagine
today!
And God
blessed them, and God said to them,
"Be fruitful and multiply,
and fill the earth and subdue it."
Genesis 1:28a
Now at this
time while the disciples were increasing in number...
Acts 6:1a
And the word
of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples
continued to increase greatly…
Acts 6:7a
So the church
throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace,
being built up; and, going on in the fear of the Lord and in
the comfort of the Holy Spirit,
it continued to grow.
Acts 9:31
Ten,
Our focus is on our liberty in Christ!
Absolutely! It
is our belief that the church is like a mighty river--
flowing wherever the Lord desires. Therefore, our focus is to
enter into His river, the flowing of His Spirit, and allow Him
to take us and use us as He see fit. Why? Because the
Scriptures clearly state that "we are not our own, but have
been bought with a price. Therefore we are to glorify God in
our bodies (in everything that we do)!"
Now the Lord
is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is
liberty. But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a
mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the
same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the
Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
